So number two lives!!! It's new owners, NPY Racing from the Orlando area have taken delivery and are embarking on their testing schedule. They expect their driver, Corey Young to complete his national license requirements this year running around the southeast. We here at Mallen Alley want to congratulate them on their new toy and look forward to seeing this monster out there rubbing the competition the wrong way.
Front half of the chassis coming together
Looking up through the driver's area
The very busy front bulkhead
The engine arrives and finds it's place in space
The car starts to grow around the 06 GSX-R
Looking at the rear as it comes together
All of the suspension points are now in place and the heavy fab work is done on #002
Just a shot from the front
A really good sign, it comes off the table.
A shot from the rear with it getting really close to being done.
The header all fitted up
A shot of the Pingel shifter
A side view of the shifter
One more view from the top of the shifter assembly
The shifter was the last bit of fab work on the chassis, after a few days of normalizing welds it was time to paint
A front shot of the main chassis, still in the booth
A slightly fuzzy look from behind
And a side view
The rear chassis
It comes back inside and the engine climbs in it's hole
And the dry sump tank and diff
Front shot with the floors and bulkhead in place
Rack, fire system and front airjacks, it's coming together
The front of the car starts to come together
The front gets a little more complete
The rear starting to look better
A rear corner pretty complete, this car is getting outboard brakes, we're still working with the inboard unit on the mule.
A pretty poor picture of the rear.
The bodywork makes it's first appearance in the chassis shop
This set, the second complete one we've pulled, is very nice. The weight has been cut nearly in half and the fit is very good.
This set is all carbon, no fiberglass, just a touch of Kevlar in the wheel arches, it's light and stiff, like ummmm carbon should be.
Here it is in it's final fitment, the body all in place looks really good.
A really busy couple of weeks and #2 is holding itself up. It's waiting to be loaded in it's box for a trip down south.
